Planting and watering in and of themselves do not produce crops. Without God providing the miracle of sprouting and growing, no increase in crops would occur. Paul compares our role as Christians, and God’s role of saving lost souls to growing crops. Paul addresses these things to the church of Rome who he writes the book of Romans to. Romans 15:14 “And I myself also am persuaded [...] “…and how shall they hear without a preacher?” Romans 10:14 In Acts chapter 22, we see Paul standing before a mob which had been stirred up by some people who accused him of “polluting” the temple by allowing Gentiles to enter.
