There’s several ways we can look at 1 Corinthians 4:18-20. It came to me in two different ways. First, let’s look at those verses. 1 Corinthians 4:18-20 “Now some are puffed up, as though I would not come to you. But I will come to you shortly, if the Lord will, and will know, [...] So far in 1 Thessalonians 5, Paul has been talking to Christians about their preparedness for the rapture of the Church. His main message it seems is for Christians, in anticipation of the rapture, is to live our lives pleasing to God; to live our lives as though the rapture could occur at any [...] Today I studied 1 Thessalonians 5:6. And if there are two verses which Christians today need, it is these two verses. How many Christians do we know, including ourselves, who go about their daily lives as though they have years or even decades to live? How do we know that the rapture will not [...] Many people have tried to predict when the rapture will occur. I will not do that because I think it is impossible to know the exact day that it will happen. God gives us several signs in the Bible so we will know that the day approaches. Lets’ look at a few of the [...] What a glorious day it will be when the Lord comes back to collect Christians to Himself! We’ve read in 1 Thessalonians 4:16 how those Christians who have died will be resurrected first, after the trumpets of the Lord sound. Now, in verse 17 Paul continues with how those who are “alive and remain” [...] Many of us have read the Scripture regarding the rapture several times. Today I studied this verse in 1 Thessalonians 4:16. This is a tremendous event. It marks the removal of Christians from the earth. It marks the beginning of the end for the defeated Satan and his forces. And it marks the beginning [...] It is not all over when we die. There is an afterlife which will last for eternity. Whether you are a Christian in this life will determine your eternal place in the afterlife. Many people think that when you die, it’s all over. You are placed in a grave, your physical body decays and [...] It is a natural tendency for us to grieve when we have loved ones who have died. We will miss them; miss their company and companionship. Paul understood this, and gives to Christians comforting words in the last part of 1 Thessalonians 4. Even though we will mourn the loss of a loved one, [...] If you are a Christian, what will you have to show the Lord for your service for Him? How many people who were lost in sin have come to know Christ as a result of your testimony, your life or your witness? This is an important question that we as Christians face every day [...] When a person becomes saved, they become ambassadors of Jesus Christ. We are no longer “of” the world. We represent the Kingdom of Heaven as we live our lives here on earth. Paul the Apostle references this fact in Philippians 3:20.
