I see three great Christian characteristics in 1 Thessalonians 1:3, characteristics which are repeated famously in 1 Corinthians chapter 13: faith, hope and charity. These are three characteristics which the church of the Thessalonians were known for; these are characteristics which we as Christians should also be known for. 1 Thessalonians 1:3 “Remembering without [...] What a wonderful thing it is when we pray for our fellow Christians. Uplifting each other in prayer is a heavenly, or Godward expression of our concern and love for our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. With your prayer to God for other Christians, you are showing God that others are important to [...] In the last half of the verse, Paul wishes grace and peace to the church. How many different places do we look for peace and satisfaction today? Some people look to food for their safety. Some people accumulate money and property in a way to find peace within. As many things as there are on the earth, people have looked into them all to find peace within. True peace is only found through God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. [...] Do you know that God will intervene into your life if He sees that you need something? That is what Philippians 4:19 says. Not only will He move in to help, this verse says He will “fill you up”.
