In Acts 26, we see Paul deliver his defense to king Agrippa and Agrippa’s sister Bernice. Instead of using a lot of fancy words, he simply delivers his testimony. Paul’s testimony is fascinating. In Paul’s testimony, he speaks of his conversion on the road to Damascus and how he had turned from a life [...] In Acts 25, Paul has been in prison for 2 years at the orders of Felix. Chapter 25 the Roman official Festus came to Jerusalem. The chief priest and chief of the Jews approach Festus to ask for Paul to be transferred from Caesarea where he’s being held to Jerusalem. They had the hopes [...] In Acts 24, we see Paul standing before Felix, falsely accused of being a “pestilent” and a “mover of sedition”. I note to begin with, the high priest and elders hired an orator, someone who is a smooth talker, to falsely accuse Paul before Felix. Beware of smooth talkers. Satan is a smooth talker [...] Matthew 28:20 says, “…I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.” Acts 23:11 says, “And the night following the Lord stood by him…” When we are in our bleakest moments, we as Christians know that God is right there with us. Paul had stood before the council, and there was [...] “…and how shall they hear without a preacher?” Romans 10:14 In Acts chapter 22, we see Paul standing before a mob which had been stirred up by some people who accused him of “polluting” the temple by allowing Gentiles to enter. Paul had been called by God to preach the Word to the Gentiles, [...] It is striking how God takes care of his own when we follow the will of the Holy Spirit. In Acts 21, Paul is led of the Holy Spirit to go to Jerusalem, in spite of warnings to him that it could mean his death. The Holy Spirit leads us to DO things in [...] In Acts 20, Paul is in the middle of his second missionary journey, preaching and teaching Christians. I find an interesting story in chapter 20. While Paul preached late one night in the city of Troas, a young man fell asleep while sitting in a window, and fell 3 stories to his apparent death. [...] |
