Do you know that God will intervene into your life if He sees that you need something? That is what Philippians 4:19 says. Not only will He move in to help, this verse says He will “fill you up”. Philippians 4:19 “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in [...] I have written several in the past couple weeks about supporting missionaries, not only in voice and belief, but monetarily and in spirit. Paul points out in Philippians 4:14-17 several more notable characteristics of the church at Philippi which we can learn a great deal from, when it comes to supporting missionaries. I began [...] I studied Philippians 4:13 today, which happens to be my wife Connie’s life verse. We are asked throughout the Bible to do things for the Lord. God wants us to accomplish things for Him while we are here on this earth. We are to serve Him and He is to get all the glory. It is something that most of us today have not learned — and that is to be content with our situation as it relates to personal belongings. Here is what Paul says he has learned. Philippians 4:11 “Not [...] Does your church support missionaries? Do you care about these missionaries and are you like-minded with them? If you support these missionaries, how do you show it? These are all questions as Christians that we need to address to ourselves because it’s one thing to say you support missionaries; it is another thing to [...] In Philippians 4:9, we learn that we are to “pass it on” when it comes to receiving gifts from the Lord. [...] Our thought life is very important to the Lord. Paul addresses this in Philippians 4. In verse 6, Paul tells us to be “careful for nothing”; in other words, don’t be dragged down by the cares of the world. It’s easy with all that goes on around us to be mentally worn down by [...] Why is it that we stray from the Lord at times? All Christians do that at one time or another. We get in a position in our lives which is further from Jesus than we need to be. It is us who strays from the Lord rather than the Lord straying from us. We [...] It is easy for any of us to get bogged down with the cares of the world. Some of us have illnesses. Some have financial difficulty. Some have children or other relatives who you are worried about. So many times we fret and worry about things but never take them to God. In Philippians [...] What is your general disposition as you live your Christian life? Are you known as brash, funny, or easy-going? The way you present yourself to the world is important to God. The reputation you gain with the people who you associate with, and the consistency in which you demonstrate it is addressed in Philippians [...] |
